Andy Genereux experienced rock climbing for the first time on Mt. Yamnuska during an early spring snowstorm in 1975. This inaugural first climb had him following Ben Gadd up Ben's Route on the East End of Yamnuska.
He was immediately hooked and the passion for the sport is still going strong over 50 years later.
He has extensive involvement in new route exploration throughout the Canadian Rockies, is a guidebook author and a leading proponent of the local climbing scene. He has established over a two thousand pitches of new rock climbing and many of the classic lines of the modern era of development on Yamnuska.
He is currently focused on developing the Moose Mountain area near Bragg Creek.
